Homer hosts a diverse population of 4000 fisherman, oil patch workers and artists. His family's modest home had no running water, Arron had to run and get it. Summers were spent as a deckhand on his family's commercial fishing boat; and winters were divided between school, cross-country skiing and teaching himself how to write code. In 2000 he moved to the Lower 48 to study math, computer science and cultural anthropology at Western Washington University. A few bad fishing seasons forced him to start his own business in 2002.
