Learn c++, real-time programming, finance math, move to chicago.

How much finance math do you need ahead of time? Is it enough being a great developer who is willing and able to learn the financial side quickly?

That can work, particularly if you have networking. The very top jobs involve substantial math--statistics, simulated annealing, optimization, and such.

Not much, if any (in my experience). I have a background in network programming though - which lends itself very well to high speed trading.

my question exactly
