I wonder how many people change how they express themselves just to sound less like AI.


I've been a regular users of the em dash for years before it became associated with AI output — and I refuse to let that change me!


I've always used the double-hyphen for m-dash -- it's a carry-over from learning to touch-type on a typewriter.

Hopefully that's enough of a distinction...


i do the same thing, but not for typewriter, but because back in my leopard/snow leopard days, i setup -- to transform into —.

the thing is, i never setup it again but i kept typing --.
