“Expert” doesn’t mean much anymore. They’re more likely than not to be under the control of their employers, their funders, or even their political ideology.


100% agree. I would further add that occasionally being perceived as an expert can be bad. When I sense this type of crowd, I take Norm Macdonald's approach and pretend that I barely know anything.
