From this article I have no clue what ICE was even doing. Detaining whom? For what reason? Without this information I cannot infer whether the protest is warranted or not

What happened to due process? If ICE are detaining illegal immigrants then why are USA citizens so riled up? Something doesn't add up. Could somebody please explain the situation based on critical thinking, not emotional talking points?
