This severely damages my confidence in ios being a secure operating system. Looking into Linux phones.


If they could do this on iOS, your Linux phone doesn't stand a chance. They'll find bugs in it.


It probably cost millions of dollars to put together a team to develop and deploy this - it was only worth the investment because it could be reliably used against anyone with an iphone.


So it's Security through Obscurity. One of the most mocked security methods online. Gotcha.

There's no such thing as a "secure operating system," at least not one with any adoption whatsoever.
