I just got an email from YouTube about needing to flag content as "made for kids" or "not made for kids" with more details at https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9527654.

This is strange. For example, I have a math instruction video. It is not targeted at kids, but kids could watch if they want. If we are trying to protect kids, shouldn't we be flagging videos as "child inappropriate" rather than flagging it specifically for kids? Like, I get that they want a special protected zone for kids where they can be sure that the ads and (lack of) comments are appropriate. But it feels like such a half measure.
