How? X is hostile to any party attempting to bring justice to its users that are breaking the law. This is a last recourse, after X and its owner stated plainly that they don't see anything wrong with generating CSAM or pornographic images of non-consenting people, and that they won't do anything about it.

Court order, ip of users, sue the users. It is not X job to bring justice.

X will not provide these informations to the French Justice System. What then? Also insane that you believe the company that built a "commit crime" button bears no responsibility whatsoever in this debacle.

It is illegal in USA too, so the french authorities would absolutely have no problems getting assistance from the USA ones.

Elon Musk spent a lot of money getting his pony elected you think he isn't going to ride it?

You really believe that? You think the Trump administration will force Musk's X to give the French State data about its users so CSAM abusers can be prosecuted there? This is delusional, to say the least. And let's not even touch on the subject of Trump and Musk both being actual pedophiles themselves.

I remember seeing some projects by the French government on their self-hosted Gitlab. Maybe these are just public mirrors of their private repos?

Only thing you can do is flag them. Two strikes and they're gone. Plus usually, moderation give these accounts a perma-ban.

No. Both.

> Credit, again: we need the equivalent of D&B/Fico for Europe

Hell no, please! If recent years have shown anything, it's that the US shouldn't serve as a blueprint for the EU, or any other aspiring federation.

> So many more science experiments with better expected ROI could be funded for the money needed for the FCC

Ok, like what? Let the scientists at CERN decide what to spend their funding on.

CERN shouldn't get that funding if they're going to push for the FCC. Funding is often contingent. Even sticking only to particle physics, there's lots of other research that could use that funding better, like wakefield accelerators and muon colliders.

I mean, CERN is already funding many other projects? It's a huge organization. Why should the FCC specifically be forbidden to them? Who else than the actual CERN scientists has the competence to decide what to allocate funds to? I used to subscribe to this anti-collider contrarianism too, but then I realized that it is not that common among actual researchers.

Unlike now?

Yes, it would be even worse with people lacking in productive skills.

Buybacks should be illegal again. They're like drugs for companies, they can't help but do them and divest capital that would help them thrive and put it into their shareholders' pockets.

Of course they can. Issuing shares and going public is the exact opposite of that and they do that all the time.

Usually, when a system is broken, the correct course of action is to fix it. Not destroy it utterly.

Why blame China? This dire situation is not on foreign nations seeking to destroy US democracy, it's entirely on domestic robber barons capturing the State for their own gains. China has very little soft power among the general population, while Musk, Ellison and the other propagandists run the show.

Our domestic robber barons are building the capacity to monitor and control Americans in ways similar to those used by China to monitor and control their population.

China isn't to blame, but they are a frightening example of where things are headed and they're giving the robber barons screwing us a blueprint to follow.

Indeed, thankfully it seems this admin and its allies are nowhere near as competent and diligent as the CCP.
