Yep, the biggest problem with all public forums tends to be the moderators. This includes HN.

Step 1: create a walled garden by taking over parts of the internet.

Step 2: algorithmically shadowban everyone you don't like.

This leaves most people with no voice. The only acceptable things to say are what the moderators of like 3 popular forums agree with.

It's funny watching this "AI revolution" as an industry veteran because it's like watching people in a zoo playing as animals.

There was an AI revolution, it happened in the 1950s-1960s with the invention of LISP, and then there was an AI winter because it never played out.

There is no reason to think it's going to play out this time either. This is just a hype cycle. When someone tells you about "AI" replace it with "blockchain" and laugh in their face.

This is a non-issue at this point. The truth is that people don't only tolerate, but deliberately purchase malware if it's more convenient. It's a tradeoff people are willing to make. How many of you run a backdoored CPU with IME? How many of you are fine with telemetry? You have been asking to be spied on for over a decade now and that's just what I can remember.
