yikes, that is not a great logo. it has also lost its essence

In fact, when I saw the new logo, the first thing that came to my mind was Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper in Dr. Strangelove saying "I deny them my essence."

But, this seems to me the gestalt of modern design. Less less less. Until it is no more.

I also hate the new ones. And most of what modern design pumps out now days.

That sounds great, how much friction does this setup cause you daily? Could you hand your phone to a firend or family easily if they needed it?

Each profile in GrapheneOS is encrypted separately, and switching profiles require entering a PIN (plus additional biometric methods if you set them up for that profile) before the data is decrypted and accessible.

So yes, you can hand the phone over to a friend or family, and they cannot get to any other user profile. Or you can set up a separate profile just for them, and they will have their own isolated set of apps - something like a separate user account on a desktop PC. And if only they know the PIN for their profile and you don't, they can keep secrets from you on that profile.

I just watched this yesterday, and i thought it was fantastic. It would be great to have more of these kinds of movies to explain the rich history of tech, as there is just so much of it.

Yeah, and it's a matter of getting used to it for most. A bit like when text has an accent written out.

In case of bugs in the decompiler. Extracting the files is still possible in newer versions, just not decompiling the installer scripts.
