It was very easy to setup. I like the interface. My only complaint is the annoying signature that I can't figure out how to remove[0]. It doesn't appear to be listed in the settings.

This seems to be on the free plan only (see pricing plan). Which makes sense to me - if you're not paying, you might as well be advertising.

Ah, that explains it. Thanks.

Seems to be mandatory on the free plan: https://www.migadu.com/en/pricing.html (search for signature) in there.

That makes me think of "Scrambled Hackz"[1] in a feedback loop. Very cool stuff but I'm not sure if he ever released the source to the program, sadly.

No he didn't.. I've been waiting and waiting, still no joy.

Some systems use /bin and /sbin as directories containing binaries capable of being used in single-user mode (where only / is mounted), meaning a pretty bare experience. root's shell would probably not be bash in this case and bash would probably be optional/a package and would be installed elsewhere.

I'm guessing it's because /etc contains configuration files and dot-files are just configuration files. Or do you mean, why was /etc named etc?

For the latter, a lazy copy/paste from Wikipedia:

"There has been controversy over the meaning of the name itself. In early versions of the UNIX Implementation Document from Bell labs, /etc is referred to as the etcetera directory as this directory historically held everything that did not belong elsewhere (however, the FHS restricts /etc to static configuration files and may not contain binaries)."

I think they meant the latter. Why is it /etc instead of, perhaps more obvious, /config or /settings?

If it was meant for configuration - probably it would've been - /cfg /ini /set /opt /flg /arg /prm (params)

As someone said - naming things is the hardest!

A browser needs access to your raw password or it wouldn't be able to send it to a website. You could take Chrome to just not remember your passwords if it'd make you feel better. And alternative could be the master password feat but I'm not sure how that option works. I'm assuming (and this is dangerous) that it encrypts your passwords with your master password and decrypts them after you've entered that password.

Does anyone have a colorscheme that only highlights comments?
