The way this is going, this will actually be a part of Parse (parse.com) now that Facebook bought recently to provide a more robust MBASS platform for app developers.
Parse.com? I think it is more about cloud services for your apps.
I think it is more towards Facebook Home app. Why would they buy a android performance monitoring app. The guys at LittleEye have some good tech for automating the instrumentation of the APK on the device itself (decompile and build apk back), etc. They may be targeting android app store!
Yes, Facebook home would benefit the most. But, as mentioned by msahil, Parse will also hugely benefit. Parse has an Android SDK and a custom Push Notification implementation as part of it which runs as a background job in the phone. So, resource optimization becomes key here.
I think its too early to judge yourself in low esteem. You should hold some road shows and also go to events where artists hang out and demo your product to them..That should help..apart from that I guess you should keep on going for at least a year so get some traction. Don`t assume to have thousands or millions signing up in few weeks and months... First few weeks and months are slow
Sahil, thanks for the feedback! :)
We are surely going to be patient ducks for as long as it takes! I think Pinterest has done us all a favor by being role models!
Do some quick tests on your app to figure out what part of your app is the bottleneck. Rememeber the 80/20 rule applies here as well. You might get a lot of performance improvement by focussing only on few key areas. DO NOT, EVER, OVER OPTIMIZE YOUR APP. If you need to spend lot of time to rework then do it in phases rather than taking a big bang approach
South Koreans are known for copying great products and launching them cheap most of the time. I see this here all the time..This includes most of the big time Korean players in all segments...It's not just the chineese but the koreans are good at copying too
