This feature already exists, I use it all the time.

In GitLab? Maybe we're using an outdated GitLab version here, but I can't find it. And it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the offical Reviewing documentation: https://docs.gitlab.com/ce/user/project/merge_requests/revie...

If you mean the "collapsing" feature, this is really not equivalent, since the state does not persist between multiple review sessions.

I don't have it either. I wish we could "check" things off. I also wish I had more ability to do settings "by group", rather than by project.

Community Advocate at GitLab here, it'd be great if you can add this feedback to this issue: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/24629 Thanks!

It's now official, Amazon suspended all delivery services in France for 5 days, starting tonight. (In French: https://www.bfmtv.com/sante/direct-coronavirus-covid-19-fran...)

> 2. If your keyboard breaks, Apple will replace it free. The newer gen keyboards generally don't break.

This is not true. My keyboard broke and has been replaced with the same generation keyboards. I asked the apple store about it before they start any reparation, they told me they would never replace with a newer generation. (MacBook Pro 2018, a few weeks after Apple introduced the new butterfly keyboards.) I am located in Paris, France, if it matters.

You’re not missing out on anything. I have the latest revision of the butterfly design and already had to send in for replacement. The design is useless and none of their bandaid fixes make it reliable.

Thanks. After hours of trouble it looks like they're finally getting around to updating status.

I mean, it's incredible it takes so long to update the status. Every single time there were an outage, I waited at least 10 minutes before having an update on the status dashboard. It's not acceptable. (When there is a status update at all...)

Amazing postmortem! I have a question: I see a lot of software / process solutions to avoid this to repeat in the future. What about the Human factor?

- what happened to the engineer(s) responsible for that event? They must feel really bad RN, how do you handle this situation?

- on a more general point, how do you train individuals to ensure this particular event does not reproduce?

Edit: formatting.

It seems there is a global outage. Google, YouTube and other services are intermittently failing. Mailgun just posted a message about it “[mailgun status] Identified: Global Internet Connectivity Issues http://stspg.io/6d0b57ceb”

> in my experience Epita/Epitech doesn't produce good software engineers

Could you explain a bit more? I’m myself from Epitech, and it hurts my feelings :p

Take it with a grain of salt, because I worked mainly in the industry (automotive, telecom, medical devices).

Generally, a more generic engineer diploma includes some electrical engineering, mechanics, signal processing, and so on. Sometimes there is a bias against Epita/Epitech candidates that they are too focused on CS or IT but not on more generic knowledge. So they are seen are less well rounded candidates overall.

Designing/building system is usually not a purely abstract CS problem but requires to take into account real world constraints.

On the other hand, I assume that Epita/Epitech candidates are probably better candidate for an environment like a bank or insurance company.

EPITA student here, the thing is the majority of the student are not interested by those area, the first half are more interested going to FB, Google, Nvidia etc... or smaller companies but tech oriented than going to big telecom or medical companies like you said. The other half goes to more corporate / consulting companies because it pays well. Like you said Industry does not promote their sector in our school so no one knows about them or what they offer.

It's true that EPITA is definetely more CS oriented, but we are definetely capable of designing / building system (in IT), less in telecom / medical and even less in automotive. The reason is really simple it's because we are not passionate about these industries .

Btw EPITA is an engineering school not EPITECH so you can't really compare them they are just part of the same group.

... Epita, efrei, supinfo ... great great school everybody know this, in France au moins.

... Epitech is a very special little thing.

Sadirac, real old hacker from semantec, build just 20 year the futur of computer school: student become teacher, each test is an automatic correction ...

So, 42 is bully, in my opinion, but Epitech remain la crème de la crème.

You do realize that all the epitech staff, including sadirac himself moved to found ecole 42 years ago ?

They posted the issue, then archived it immediately. It is not visible, unless you scroll all the way down to the page. Weird move Heroku.

Amazing resource to learn more about submarine cable: http://submarine-cable-map-2017.telegeography.com/ (Google maps of submarine cable)

Update: They are finally trying to breach in.

- Looks like some guys are lowering the business end of a submersible trash pump into the conning tower. There's a flat hose attached, but it hasn't filled yet.

- Flat hose just became round, so they're pumping out the sub. All this is happening leisurely; looks like they're trying to do this with minimum damage.

- This is just some of the port crew and a crew from a heavy crane company preparing to move the thing. No emergency crews. They put the sub on a truck, using a huge dockside crane, and towed it away. Any investigation has already taken place or will be done elsewhere.
