I emailed castAR last month asking about positions in hardware/embedded dev for new grads, but I didn't hear anything back. I tried both careers@ and jobs@ email addresses.

We changed how we handle incoming mail (some of it was unwittingly ending up in a bit bucket) could you try again? I intend that everyone get a response. Sorry!

right here! most of my past projects have been in robot design and embedded development. what specifically are you looking to discuss?

Nice! Anything and everything. Manufacturing is a big pain for hardware start ups. I was looking to discuss on how people have dealt with their manufacturing processes.

Same here! But I start working in mid-February. Wanna spend the winter hacking away? Maybe we'll get something useful out of it, perhaps even a semester at YC :P

Aren't bigger companies also looking for people who have a solid foundation in algorithms/data structures? Since most of my work has been in hardware, I haven't had a chance to apply these concepts extensively.

Which bigger companies would you recommend given my past experience?

I also feel that all I need is a chance and then I will learn and adapt as is expected by the job and the company. Is this something most other people also feel?

West Coast (preferably California), Relocation, Internship for this summer (+Full Time after I graduate in December)

Most of my experience has been in hardware design and low level programming, however I am trying to expand my horizons by learning more about artificial intelligence and machine learning. So I would like to work for someone working in those fields. However, I am open to any and all options because I really want to get a feel for what the technology culture on the West Coast is like.
