Are you open to remote candidates from Europe?

There are a lot of job openings in Europe: https://www.open-xchange.com/about-ox/career/jobs/ The company as a whole is pretty open to remote (or at least, partial Remote) work.

I prefer to work in research/ university environment. It is Flexible hours are good to work and I do not work after office hours.

IBM had power and if anyone remembers it was also part of cell architecture team along with sony and Toshiba. I worked with yellow dog linux the official linux distro for sony ps3 . IBM at that point was still pushing for Red hat instead of investing in yellow dog which was powerpc centric. Red hat fedora later dropped support for powerpc. So in all IBM hardware failed and now it is trying to go is way?

I was working 2 part time jobs as software developer/system admin in different cities . Though it does not count in the context of this thread as neither was remote and not full time But both my managers knew that what i was working. 8-12 one job then other job 1-4. Mind you the two jobs where in different cities and there was a commute of 30 mins between cities. Though i was junior most in both places . i guess the managers gave me leeway . I guess it all depends on your honesty and your responsibilities,

In my previous company , we used 9p protocol for developing Vertex ; https://github.com/HPCLinks/Open-Vertex.

To give more details, IBM was doing a research project on Blue Gene using 9p. They called it HARE and were using 9p protocol. http://domino.watson.ibm.com/library/CyberDig.nsf/1e4115aea7.... W

Thank you for your comment. Yes this posting is in UK and if it does matter, this posting is in University of Oxford. And i do believe since HR does have information about my current salary and benefits , it is worth asking them to elevate the grade if possible.

To put things in context, they are flying me from Asia to Europe for second interview (in person on university campus) . So i assume they are pretty serious and would be open to salary negotiation.
