The XPS 15/13 is viable competition imho.

Interesting.

I have a 1700X/16GB/SSD build and a Dell XPS 15 9560, both of which are very fast, but the Ryzen just flies!

Is the XPS 15 good? I went on Amazon to buy one, but the reviews are 50% 1-star, and I got scared.

I have an $3000 XPS13 and it's the worst computer I ever had. Very bad build quality. Too hot so glue dissolves. Makes weird noises with load (or browser scrolling). Fan broken in no time. Performance not what I had hoped for.

I have had 0 issues with it except some Audio stuttering due to DPS Latency issues.

I'm getting a replacement (Model Up actually, Dell did a 12% off offer) so we'll see how it is. I look forward to UHD Touch & Fingerprint Reader.

Thank you, I got the smaller (not base) model but added the fingerprint reader, as it was only $20ish and it might prove useful. I'm glad you had no issues.

Have fun! They are really nice tbh.

It's Amazing. Battlefield 1 on Ultra/Headphones/3440x1440 at 60fps is Incredibly Immersive.

Have you gotten to see the ultrawides that run at 100hz? They're pretty incredible.

Do you have a link to one of these?

There are two and they use the same panel:

* ASUS PG348Q (I own this one and I love it)

* Acer Predator X34 (My colleague 4 seats down has this one and she loves it).

No, but I'd like one :D

Personally, I play at 3440x1440. I want 0 bottlenecks and more power than I need, so a 1080Ti is perfect for me. Especially as in the UK I can get it for ~£30 more than I paid for the 1080.

I simply don't understand how some people people (Such as you) are having so many issues. I'm not denying you have, but I've upgraded upwards of 10 PCs with hardware all the Way from Summer 2016 to Early 2008/2007, and except on the truly geriatric ex-XP hardware, I've had barely any issues. One Acer Laptop has a crashy sound driver, but apart from that...

Very Cool. Thank you. Will sign up :)

However, in the future he may want to install/create mods for Minecraft, which would start him on the path for further skills.

I use Blendle, personally find it really good.

Thank you for this.

I think he means the 000000 that the USAF set the password to for launching the LGM-30 Minuteman ICBM. For expediency, apparently.

That was eight zeroes, not six. Two more bits of entropy!

Ah, 8 of them.

I bet that made it some much more secure! /s
