Maybe modular SOC? Have motherboards with a standardized pinout but the CPU has RAM/GPU soldered on. You could choose a CPU with productivity graphics performance, HTPC performance or high end gaming performance with associated different RAM sizes. Time to short Corsair/G.SKILL/etc.
I feel like a lot of people are not taking into account that there should be way better options than zoom/slack, we should have fully immersive 3d video, screens, camera's, such that you wouldn't miss face 2 face interactions at all. That would change a lot of minds, and the technology doesn't seem far off.
By that logic, you would want MacOS to be the same, apps only available via the store? It would give you all the same benefits, why is MacOS still 'open'? Why is there a terminal?
Oh, I definitely think the comparison would be unfair if price weren't part of the comparison. I'm just arguing that for me, the price premium of the AirPods Max is worth it, because they have things about them that make them more valuable to me. I'm by no means arguing that Sony's are bad. I've been very happy with them.
here's some nuance: there's plenty of kids showing off programming stuff/tricks/apps on tiktok and plenty of kids getting inspired to try something themselves because of it. It is the very fact that it seems 'doable' and fun/cool that way.
4Chan is one of the few online communites with the 'spirit' of the old internet, it has remained functionally the same since 2003. There's only a few sites like that left (newgrounds? Somethingawful?).
Somethingawful threw some of their worst shitposters out, and they went to 4Chan. 4Chan has since thrown a subset of their worst shitposters out, and they went to... Other forums.
